Commitment from the breeder « Member of the CFCBB (french shepherd dog association) since 1973, when I owned my first groenendael, I have always been involved in this favorite breed of my choice, with a real passion for breeding, and convinced that the lasting of a breed depends on a rigorous selection, backed on the official standard set for the breed. I always followed the habits of family breeding, rather than professionnal one. Thus, at the « Castel d’Argences », I have been respecting over forty years the moral rules of an amateur way of breeding, defending a quality production which, to my mind, doesn’t go along with quantity. I feel linked to the know how idea which allows wealthy, well-balanced puppies, easy to live with and reliable, even and mostly when they have been planned to excel in competitions ! As a consequence, the « Castel d’Argences » had been referenced by the French Dog Society (SCC) during 18 years before being selected, as Vanille du Chemin des Dames, first bitch of the kennel, her daughters Delphes and Daphnée, then Fidji and later Noir-Désir became R.E (Elite referenced bitches), without forgetting the s.r (recommended ) dogs produced. I can easily assert not being interested by a quantitive production and its inferences of impersonality and merchandising processes.» Michèle BIDAULT |

Breeding kennel presentation |
In 1974, Michèle Bidault started to breed long-haired belgian shepherd dogs, mostly Groenendaels under the name of the « Castel d’Argences » kennel, with passion and carefullness. The high quality achieved and the well-researched breeding programmes devoted to selection have deserved since 1993 a « recommandation » status by the french SCC for this family breeding kennel, leading a small production. It has been selected since 2009. |
